Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers,
As your children approach their final year of Primary School, we are sure they are excited for all the fun it will bring – even if you are terrified of your babies going to secondary school. We wanted to communicate with you our school plan for this last year at school so you are prepared and aware of key dates in case you need any time off work.
The following events will take place in school and be organised by the staff:
· Monday 10th October – Thursday 20th October: Bikeability as timetabled.
· Monday 26th June – Wednesday 28th June: Residential (a change of dates to ensure we had accommodation)
· Monday 17th July: Year 6 Production 9.30am to Parents and 6pm to Parents
· Wednesday 19th July: Year 6 Parent Picnic (12.30pm) followed by Leavers Service (1.30pm).
· Thursday 20th July: Year 6 Celebration day – Pupils only. This will be a fun day for the children and we will ask all parents for a contribution towards this. We will hire inflatables and have a fun day together, with time for shirts to be signed – an important rite of passage for all Year 6.
The PTA:
The PTA will be providing the end of year leaver’s hoodie and an autograph book for each child.
In the past, there has been some confusion over the Year 6 Leaver’s Prom - as a school, this is not something we organise. However, if you would like to organise one for the year group, you are very welcome to do so. You may use the school hall for an evening should you wish but this cannot be the last week of term as unfortunately the school is extremely busy.
We look forward to all these celebration as the year progresses.
Year 6 Barming Primary Team
Dear Parents/Carers,
It is still not on site, but you had worked that out on your own!
In all seriousness, I am writing to give you an update, as many of you have been asking.
We have been working extremely hard behind the scenes in order to sort out the establishment of Belmont Pre-School onto the Barming Primary School site. We have had a number of barriers to overcome and we are now in a position to commence the project.
We are hopeful that the project will be completed by Christmas, works on site, will commence in 5 to 6 weeks’ time. We will keep you up to date as work progresses - hopefully you will start to see things unfold!
Kind regards
Mr Laker

Dear Parents/Carers,
I want to take this opportunity to clarify the role of our wrap around care.
Firstly, the school organises this provision for our families in order to support our working families, however, it does run independently. Therefore, if you have any messages for school staff (not staff working during wrap around care) can I please ask our families to go through the proper channels and contact the school directly via the following means:
Any messages handed to the wrap around care staff for the attention of school staff will not be passed on. We are not trying to be awkward, but different staff work at different times.
Obviously, if the messages relate to the wrap around care provision then please feel free to speak to the wrap around care staff.
We just want to ensure that your messages get to where they are meant to!
Finally, families need to ensure that our wrap around care can meet the needs of your child(ren) as it is independent of the school and therefore additional support (key workers etc.) are not available. If your child(ren) need additional support at all times or require smaller settings, we do advise you to look for alternative provision. We know a couple of lovely child minders and we are happy to share their details with you individually, on request.
Thank you for your support in these matters.
Kind regards
Mr C. Laker
