Admissions

ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS

Admission to Reception year at Barming Primary School

(For In Year Admissions, please see further below)

You may apply for a Reception year place at Barming Primary School for the September 2024 intake from Friday 3rd November 2023.

Your child is eligible for a place at Barming Primary School if they were born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020.

You can apply online through the Kent County Council website or by post and not through the school.  Applications will open in Friday 3rd November 2023.  Exact dates and full details of how to apply will be available on the Kent Count Council website when applications open.  You can apply for up to 3 schools, putting them in order of preference. It is in your best interests to list 3 schools. Naming only one school does not guarantee your child a place at that school or give your child priority for a place over another child, neither does naming a school more than once.

Key dates for 2023/2024 Year R admissions are as follows:

Application process opens:  Friday 3rd November 2023

Deadline for applications: Monday 15th January 2024

Applying for an in year place at Barming Primary School

If you wish to apply for a place here at Barming Primary School (not in the normal admissions round for Reception Places), then you will need to complete the form below and return it to the school in it's original format (sorry we cannot accept photos of the form) along with your child's original full birth certificate and a proof of address.  This can be either a Mortgage/Rental Agreement, Council Tax Statement or a Utility Bill (not a mobile phone bill).  You will then be sent a letter offering your child a place if there is a space available.  Should there not be a space available for your child, you will be placed on our waiting list for your child's year according to your home's straight line distance from the school using the Kent County Council agreed method of measurement.  We will then only contact you after that should a place become available.
