Welcome to Barming Pre-School and Primary School
We are a 2 form entry primary school on the outskirts of Maidstone. It is a co-educational school for children aged 2 to 11 years old. There are currently 416 children on roll.

Orchard Academy Trust
Barming Primary School is an Academy and is part of the Orchard Trust family of schools. The Trust currently consists of Allington Primary School and Barming Primary School.

Term One:

Friday 1st September 2023 to Friday 20th October 2023

  • INSET One: Friday 1st September 2023 (Closed for children – Staff in)
  • Monday 4th September and Tuesday 5th September: Parent Meetings for New Entrants Parents.
  • Tuesday 5th September: Year 1 and Year 2 ‘Meet the Teacher’ (3.30pm to 4pm)
  • Tuesday 5th September: Year 3 and Year 4 ‘Meet the Teacher’ (4pm to 4.30pm)
  • Wednesday 6th September: Year 5 and Year 6 ‘Meet the Teacher’ (3.30pm to 4pm)
  • Wednesday 6th September – Monday 11th September: Reception Morning/Afternoon Sessions.
  • Tuesday 12th September and Wednesday 13th September: Reception children staying all morning and for lunch.
  • Thursday 14th September: Reception children start full time.
  • Monday 25th September: Harvest Assembly for children by Rev Wil North
  • Monday 9th October: Applying for Secondary Schools Meeting with Parents and Residential– School Hall - 3.30pm
  • Wednesday 11th October: Reception Talk: What is Read, Write Inc? What do we do in school and how can you support at home? (3.15pm to 3.45pm) Up in the Reception Classrooms.

  • Thursday 21st March: Year 4 Multiplication Check Talk (3.30pm to 4.30pm) In Braeburn Class (Year 4). Run by the Year 4 Class Teachers.
  • Wednesday 20th March: Year 1 Phonics Talk (3.30pm to 4.30pm) In Jazz Class (Year 1). Run by the Year 1 Class Teachers.
  • Friday 22nd March: Reports Out

 

Term Five:

Monday 15th April 2024 to Friday 24th May 2024

  • Monday 13th May to Thursday 16th May: Year 6 National Test Week  
  • Wednesday 15th May: Year 5 Residential meeting in preparation for Year 6/ Kent Test (11+) Information 3:30pm to 4pm run by the Key Stage 2 Leader.

 

Term Six:

Monday 3rd June 2024 to Friday 19th July 2024

  • Monday 10th June – Friday 14th June: Year 1 Phonics Screening Checks
  • Tuesday 18th June: Parent Consultations  3.30pm to 7.30pm (Including half hour teacher break- Late)
  • Thursday 20th June: Parent Consultations 3.30pm to 5.30pm (Early)
  • Monday 10th June: Sports Morning Year 6, 5 and Year 4
  • Monday 17th June: Sports Morning Year 3, 2 and Year 1
  • Monday 24th June: Sports Morning Reception and Pre-School
  • Tuesday 9th July: Year 6 Production 9.30am to Parents and 6pm to Parents
  • Friday 12th July: Transition Day for all – This will be all day for the children.
  • Thursday 18th July: Year 6 Parent Picnic followed by Leavers Service 1.30pm
  • Friday 19th July: Year 6 Celebration day – Pupils only

DROP OFF AND PICK UP:

Drop off points:

 

Reception children:   Via the side entrance up by Reception.

Years 1 and 2:   via the Breakfast and After School Club Door.

Years 3 and 4:   via the door to the right of the main school office entrance.

Year 5:   Ruben class via the door by Ruben class’ cloakroom/Empire class via the door between Empire class and Mr Laker’s office (door into Empire cloakroom).

Year 6:   Sunrise class via the Year 6 cloakroom door/Russet class via Russet fire exit door.

 

Years R, 1 and 2 via the left hand side pedestrian gate and Years 3 to 6 via the right hand side pedestrian gate.   

 

North Street gate can be used by anyone who lives nearer to the North Street Entrance. 

 

Drop off times will remain 8:35am to 8:50am.

 

Parents to drop and go in order to continue supporting the alleviation of parking issues around the school and will continue to leave through the vehicular access. Thank you 

 

SLT will welcome parents via the Main Entrance, so please feel free to find one of us if you have a query or a concern.
