  • Our Core Values

    Fri 19 Apr 2024

    Our Core Values

The children have helped create the following actions today in assembly to support the learning and understanding our Core Values.

Embedding Our Core Values is essential:

    1. Early Formation: Our children begin to form their understanding of the world and their values. By embedding our Core Values at this stage, we are laying a foundation for ethical behaviour and decision-making throughout their lives.
    2. Character Development: Our Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Courage and Wisdom are crucial for character development. These values shape how our children interact with others and navigate various situations.
    3. Positive School Culture: These help us create a positive and supportive environment where we all share common values.
    4. Conflict Resolution: Teaching our Core Values helps our children learn conflict resolution skills. They understand the importance of empathy, compromise, and communication in resolving disagreements peacefully.
    5. Academic Success: Research suggests that schools with strong character education programs often see improvements in academic performance, as students develop the social and emotional skills necessary for learning effectively.
    6. Preparation for Citizenship: Instilling our Core Values helps prepare our children to become responsible citizens in their communities. They learn the importance of contributing positively to society and respecting diverse perspectives.
    7. Resilience Building: Our Core values of Responsibility and Courage are critical for overcoming challenges and setbacks. By reinforcing these values early on our children develop the resilience needed to tackle obstacles later in life.

Overall, embedding our Core Values sets the stage for our children to become compassionate, responsible, and ethical individuals who contribute positively to our community!

  • ClassDojo - Parent Communication

    Tue 16 Apr 2024

    Good Morning,

    ClassDojo Information

In the process of our transition to Arbor we are now looking again at Parent/Teacher communication. We want to get this right!

Today we have started setting ClassDojo back up. This will be the way you communicate with your child's class teacher. I am sure you will agree it worked very well the last time and we feel this will ease communication.

This does mean though that we have to play with the settings and assign classes etc.... So you may get an email saying we have changed settings/moved your child's classes etc if you already have a ClassDojo account. If you do not have a ClassDojo account do not worry more information to follow soon. We need to do this to ensure it all works properly. Mrs Rathbone and Mrs Jillians are busy working on this as we speak but please give them time.

Please all continue to use here or go through the office until full setup is complete and we communicate with you that we are ready to go.

You may, however, wish to download the ClassDojo App (if you do not have it on your phone) so you are ready.

    Kind Regards

    Barming Primary School Office Team
