Term 4
We are very excited this term to be starting our 'Out of this world' topic.
Throughout the term we will be finding out about the moon, star constellations and the planets. We will also be looking at astronauts, in particular Tim Peake. The children will be introduced to music from Gustav Holst.
If you have the chance this term you may want to take your child outside, as it gets dark, to look at the night sky and talk about what you can see.
We will search for the signs of Spring and go on a Spring hunt in the outside area. We will do some observational drawings and paint daffodils.
In Maths we will continue to develop our understanding of numbers and look at how they are composed. We will begin to look at even and uneven groups. We will look at how to double and see what this looks like using objects.
In Phonics we will be in our RWI groups, learning new sounds and blending to read words. I wonder how many 'red words' we can learn this term?
