Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Well it hasn’t been quite the last week of term we had in mind, however, we’ve made it!
Thank you to all our PTA members for all their hard work this academic year… we really appreciate everything you have achieved so far!
Thank you to all of our families for your support during what has been a challenging few days. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break and look forward to seeing you back on Wednesday 4th January!
Hi All,
As most of you are aware it is snowing.
Our updated Severe Weather Policy is online at the following address https://www.barming.kent.sch.uk/policies/
We will not be making a decision tonight, but we will decide early tomorrow morning. We plan on staying open unless conditions are too dangerous for staff and pupils to get in.
Please be prepared to make alternate provisions if you need to go to work and the school is closed.
Kind regards
Mr Laker
Dear Parents/Carers,
Last week we sent a message out about reporting absences, and we have seen an increase in parents communicating with us. Thank you so much for this, it really does make a difference. Please can we ask this continues! The original message is below:
This is a reminder that you must contact the school to let us know if your child is absent. This must be on each day of absence and before 9.00am.
If we don't know why your child is not here, we have to call you and check, and if we can't get hold of you, their absence is marked as Unauthorised.
5 or more Unauthorised days can trigger Local Authority involvement and ultimately a Fixed Penalty Fine, which we would all like to avoid.
We have some older children who walk to school alone - if they don't arrive, it's very important we know that they are safe at home with you, and that you know if they have not arrived.
Keeping all our children safe and knowing where they are is why it is so important that school and home communication is good. We currently spend a lot of time checking where children are.
The Study Bugs app is a quick and easy way of informing the school, but you can also email the school office or leave a phone message. Thank you for your co-operation with this.
The Barming School Team.
Please see the message below from the organisers of Glow Arts Light Trail:
We would love for you, the school staff, parents and every child at the school a chance to see the creative work on the trail, we can't stretch to free tickets for the whole school unfortunately but we can provide a unique discount code so that every child will go free with 1 full paying adult. That offer would be valid on all time slots on the following dates only - 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th Dec.
The process to apply the code is as follows -
Kind Regards,
