Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Tuesday 6th February - Safer Internet Day
We celebrated Safer Internet Day this week. The day started with an Internet Safety Assembly reminding us all about the importance of safe use. The children then completed activities. This year's theme was 'Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating changes online' and focussed on asking children what changes they could make to makes them feel safer online.
We have been working hard here at Barming Primary School to support our children with their understanding of safety online and have had a big push about safe phone use. Please do continue to check your child's phone and keep an open dialogue about how to keep themselves safe online. It is only when we openly talk about what happens that positive change can take place and society can move forward!
Good Morning,
Happy New Year and welcome back to Term 3 2024!
Just a quick traffic update this morning - Hermitage Lane now has roadworks by the McDonalds. Please leave extra time for your journey if you use this way to come to school :-)
Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Lunch with the Head and Deputy
It was really lovely to have lunch with the selected Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 children today.
What a polite and chatty bunch! Well done for all your hard work!
REMINDER:
We have some exciting news!
Your child will be able to win the chance to have lunch with Mr Laker and Miss Rootes!!
This will be a reward for setting 'exemplary behaviour for others to follow and always trying their best!'
The lunch will be at the end of each term and will have one child from each class. Those children in younger years (Preschool and Reception) can still be nominated by their teacher but they will receive a Headteacher sticker instead. We really hope the children will enjoy this reward!
They will, of course, still have play time once they have eaten.
Good luck to all!

OPAL - Outdoor Play And Learning
We are really excited to be working with @OPALOutdoorplay to improve our play offer for our children!
Over the next 18 months we will be working with OPAL to improve our lunchtime play. We want to ensure our children thoroughly enjoy play, develop themselves, take risks and explore during our lunchtimes here at Barming Pre-School and Primary School. We will be looking into quick wins to start with such as adding music to play and looking at the equipment we provide. This is a really exciting opportunity and we hope you agree that making lunchtimes better will also support and improve behaviour.
This is a long term project that will benefit us all 🙂
