Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents/Carers,
This is just to remind all Parents/Carers that the school is closed on Friday 22nd October and Monday 1st November to all pupils due to INSET Days. Our last day of Term 1 is Thursday 21st October and the first day of Term 2 is Tuesday 2nd November 2021.
Kind Regards,
The Barming Primary School Team
As you may be aware, the Queen will be celebrating her Platinum Jubilee next year and there will be a Bank Holiday to celebrate this on Friday 3rd June 2022. However, as this date falls within our May half-term, it has been agreed that staff will be awarded a day in lieu of this on Friday 27th May. This means that the school will be closed on Friday 27th May 2022. We thank you for your support.
Kind Regards,
The Barming Primary School Team
Dear Parents/Carers of EYFS,
We are sorry to let you know that due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we will have to cancel tomorrow's Forest School for Kanzi class. Unfortunately, if the situation is still the same next week, we may have to cancel next Thursday's session for Jazz too but we will confirm this closer to the time.
We know that this is not ideal but this is out of our control. The children will still get their allocated sessions as we do have dates to fall back on and these will be sent out to you all as soon as we have them confirmed.
Kind Regards,
The Barming School Team

Dear Parents/Carers,
In true pandemic style, we were unable to finish this academic year as we would have all hoped to do so! However, in good spirit, we look forward to the next academic year, hopeful, that it will deliver a more stable time, where we can truly get back to ‘normality’. I would have preferred to send this letter out at the end of the Summer Term, but previous experience has shown me that things can change overnight, hence waiting for the 16th August which highlighted the next stage of changes… then I thought I would leave it a week, just in case!
The Barming Primary School Team have been looking hard at the areas which we have had to implement due to the pandemic and various guidelines that have been put in place and have decided that we do not want to lose all of them as we feel some help the school run far smoother. Therefore, the following areas will remain the same or be amended slightly due to the restrictions being lifted:
|
High levels of hygiene. |
Children will continue to be reminded to wash hands thoroughly, keep their hands away from their mouths as much as possible and to use hand sanitiser, where necessary e.g. before and after activities where resources have been shared. |
|
Dropping off. |
Some amendments made.
Children will continue to enter the school as they have been doing so. Drop off points will remain in place:
Yr R: via the side entrance. Yrs 1 and 2: via the Breakfast and After School Club Door. Yrs 3 and 4: via the door to the right of the main school office entrance. Yr 5: Ruben class via the door by Ruben class’ cloakroom / Empire class via the door between Empire class and Mr Laker’s office (door into Empire cloakroom). Yr 6: Sunrise class via the Year 6 cloakroom door / Russet class via Russet fire exit door.
We will keep the pathways as they are but with a few tweaks: Years R, 1 and 2 via the left hand side pedestrian gate and Years 3 to 6 via the right hand side pedestrian gate. One way system will not be in full operation e.g. parents do not need to go off site in order to re-join another year group path. Parents can just join another path.
North Street gate can be used by anyone who lives nearer to the North Street Entrance, but please remember social distancing for the time being… we are not out of the woods yet and I know the Government is still unsure what will happen this winter.
Drop off times will remain 8:35am to 8:50am.
Parents to drop and go in order to continue supporting the alleviation of parking issues around the school and will continue to leave through the vehicular access.
Amendment – I (Mr Laker) will cover the North Street gate every Tuesday in order to ensure that I see the majority of parents per week. I will continue to spend more time at the Main Entrance as the majority of our parents use this. If either Miss Rootes or I are not around another member of the SLT will be at one of the gates, so please feel free to find one of us if you have a query or a concern. |
|
Picking Up. |
Some amendments made.
Pick up times: Yr R: 3:00pm Yrs 1 and 2: 3:10pm Yrs 3, 4, 5 and 6: 3:15pm
Pick up points: Yr R: outside the Reception Block. Yrs 1 and 2: top playground (the one with the wooden boat). Yrs 3 and 4: main carpark / grass area (weather permitting). Yrs 5 and 6: lower playground with basketball posts. |
|
Children to wear P.E. kit all day on their P.E day. |
P.E kit will continue to be worn for the entire day when your child has P.E.
P.E kit needs to be as follows for September 2021:
Houses: Bermelie (red) Oaken Wood (green) Kettle Bridge (blue) St Margaret (yellow)
NB: no P.E. uniform should have logos or be of any other colour, except the colours mentioned above. Thank you. Inappropriate P.E. uniform will be challenged by the class teacher.
If any parents have spare P.E. uniform that is no longer required, please donate it to the school. Thank you. |
If you have any queries about the above, please do not hesitate to contact us as we are more than happy to discuss this further with you.
Kind regards
Mr C. J. Laker
Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers,
We apologise for the extremely late notice, however, as our kitchen is currently flooding, we will NOT be able to provide school meals tomorrow and ALL children will require a packed lunch. We are sorry again for the lateness of this notice but due to the extreme rain, our kitchen hall is flooding with no way to clear this ready to use tomorrow.
We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Kind Regards,
The Barming School Team
Dear Parents/Carers,
The great British weather appears to have let us down again and unfortunately, we will have to postpone the Year 3 & 4 Sports Day that was scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday 30th June). The great news is, we have only delayed it by one day and it will now be on Thursday 1st July. Please ensure your children come to school in uniform tomorrow and PE kit on Thursday ready for their Sports Day.
Kind Regards,
The Barming Primary School Team
