Dear Parents/Carers,
Last week we sent a message out about reporting absences, and we have seen an increase in parents communicating with us. Thank you so much for this, it really does make a difference. Please can we ask this continues! The original message is below:
This is a reminder that you must contact the school to let us know if your child is absent. This must be on each day of absence and before 9.00am.
If we don't know why your child is not here, we have to call you and check, and if we can't get hold of you, their absence is marked as Unauthorised.
5 or more Unauthorised days can trigger Local Authority involvement and ultimately a Fixed Penalty Fine, which we would all like to avoid.
We have some older children who walk to school alone - if they don't arrive, it's very important we know that they are safe at home with you, and that you know if they have not arrived.
Keeping all our children safe and knowing where they are is why it is so important that school and home communication is good. We currently spend a lot of time checking where children are.
The Study Bugs app is a quick and easy way of informing the school, but you can also email the school office or leave a phone message. Thank you for your co-operation with this.
The Barming School Team.
