Welcome to Barming Pre-School and Primary School

We are a 2 form entry primary school on the outskirts of Maidstone. It is a co-educational school for children aged 2 to 11 years old. There are currently 416 children on roll.

Orchard Academy Trust

Barming Primary School is an Academy and is part of the Orchard Trust family of schools. The Trust currently consists of Allington Primary School and Barming Primary School.

Reception Admissions September 2026

Looking for a school for your child for September 2026?

Below are the dates:

Wednesday 12th November 2025: New Entrant Tours 9.30am to 11am

Tuesday 2nd December 2025: New Entrant Tours 9.30am to 11am

We'd be grateful if you could let us know how many people will be attending please. You are very welcome to bring your child with you to view the school alongside you.

Admission to Reception year at Barming Primary School

You may apply for a Reception year place at Barming Primary School for the September 2026 intake from Friday 7th November 2025.

You can apply online through the Kent County Council website or by post and not through the school. Applications will open on Friday 7th November 2025. Exact dates and full details of how to apply will be available on the Kent Count Council website when applications open. You can apply for up to 3 schools, putting them in order of preference. It is in your best interests to list 3 schools. Naming only one school does not guarantee your child a place at that school or give your child priority for a place over another child, neither does naming a school more than once.

If your child is due to start Primary school in September 2026, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Thursday 16th April 2026). Appeals will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline (TBC), or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
