Dear Parents/Carers,
To avoid bombarding you with numerous Parentmail/Dojo messages, we have created a new page on our website.

Dear Parents/Carers,
If you pay for your child to attend either Breakfast and/or After School Club and use a Childcare Voucher Scheme, the office will be taking your bookings for Term 5 only on or before Friday 17th March 2023. We ask that all bookings are made in writing via email (office@barming.kent.sch.uk) at any time beforehand with your requirements to ensure that the correct dates are booked for you.
Once the office has received your booking requirements, you will then be issued with an invoice for you to use to book your childcare vouchers. We kindly ask that you wait until you receive your invoice before booking your childcare vouchers to ensure that only the amount on the invoice is requested and also so that the finance team at Allington can reconcile invoices and vouchers easily and correctly.
Please could you include your Childcare Voucher Scheme Membership Number or Voucher Number within your booking email where possible so that the finance team can marry up the Wraparound Care bookings with the Childcare Voucher Invoice payment they receive.
Kind Regards,
The Barming Primary School Team
Dear Parents/Carers,
We will be opening Wraparound Care bookings for Term 5 for all parents on Monday 20th March at 10:30am. At this time you will be free to make your own bookings whilst we simultaneously process the bookings for those paying by voucher/tax free childcare.
If you have any queries please email office@barming.kent.sch.uk
Kind Regards,
The Barming Primary School Team
Dear Parents and Carers,
Following on from my previous communications regarding the strike action. As communicated on the 17th January, the next strike day is tomorrow – Thursday 2nd March. Apologies, I have not messaged sooner, it had slipped my mind, but there are also no further updates, as such.
Our staff are represented by several unions, including the NEU. While the staff are not obliged to inform me of their intention to strike until the strike day, several of them have. Currently, no one has come forward to say they are striking, meaning all classes will be open. However, please be aware that these arrangements are subject to change as any eligible member of staff can change their decision and take up their right to strike on the day. With this in mind, I will still communicate the final closure list by 7:10am on Thursday 2nd March 2023.

If a class is listed as ‘CLOSED, the children in that class cannot attend school that day as the allocated staff member will be on strike. The decision to strike is not one that is taken lightly and it is important we do not undermine the decision taken by our colleagues. As such, there will be no remote learning provision for closed classes as we cannot ask a striking member of staff to provide this, nor is it acceptable to increase the workload of other staff to provide this.
All wrap around care provision will operate as normal on Thursday 2nd March, as will school meal provision for children in school. If your child is booked in to wrap around care and your class is closed for the day, please contact Mrs Jillians or Mr Leach in the office and they will coordinate reimbursement or rebooking.
As previously stated, we are not aware of anyone striking, but still consider alternate arrangements, just in case you need child care last minute. I am sorry that some of you may have to make alternative arrangements for your child and I understand that this situation may be frustrating, however, I would ask that all members of our school community continue to treat each other with respect.
I will be in touch again regarding future strike dates closer to the time.
If you have any questions, please contact me via the school office.
Kind Regards
Mr C. Laker
