Year Four

OUR MUSIC LEARNING

This Music page will showcase all our Music learning

for Year 4.

Take a look :-)

Term 1 - 2020 to 2021

Week 1: 8/9/20

Today we listened to Greig’s ‘In The Hall Of The Mountain King’ from Peer Gynt. We listened to the piece several times and we drew what we imagined:

We discussed how music can tell a story and thought about how the mood of the music changes for different characters.

Week 2/3 We practised and performed ‘In The Hall Of The Mountain King’ from Peer Gynt using chime bars. Mr Jibb made a recording and posted it on Class Dojo
Week 5/6

We have been practising using glockenspiels to play ‘In The Hall Of The Mountain King’ from Peer Gynt. Maestro Jibb split us into groups to play the different sections.

Week 7

We have been continuing to practise using glockenspiels to play ‘In The Hall Of The Mountain King’ from Peer Gynt. We have split ourselves into groups to play the different sections. We colour coded the different sections and took it in turns to play them. We found it easier when Maestros Jibb and Stockwell-Thompson wrote numbers on the keys and this helped us to get the right order. We made much better progress and all had some turns playing each bit.
