Term 4 2021 - 2022
Welcome to term 4!
In our history learning this term, we will be learning about Ancient Greece! We will learn how democracy started in Athens and how democracy is prevalent in our society today. We will look at how children are involved in democratic decisions in the classroom and how this links to their own independence and responsibility of their own actions. Linked to our history learning, our art lessons will see us designing and creating our own Greek vases from clay and using different tools to create different patterns and images on our vases.
The next term will be a busy one for both English and maths as we work steadily through a range of different skills and topic areas to improve our children's confidence ahead of the National Assessments in May 2022. We can't wait to start our new text, Macbeth, and will be experiencing a gruesome crime scene to begin with! We will be writing our version of the narrative as well as concocting our own witches' poems and newspaper articles about King Duncan's murder.
In science, we will be finding out about Darwin and about evolution. We will look at how different species have adapted over time and look at inherited characteristics between us and family members.
Please note a change to PE days for term 4 We will now have PE on Mondays and Thursdays. Children to wear PE kits into school on these days please.
