Welcome back to Term 2! We hope you all had a lovely and a restful break. We're looking to one of our favourite terms albeit a busy one!
This term, we will learn about the causes of World War Two and the impact of the events on our lives now. Our World War Two learning in history, provides opportunity for us to use World War Two stimuli for our English lessons. We will be using two wonderful picture books to inspire our writing - Rose Blanche and The Harmonica as well as using an award-winning short animated film, 'Beyond the Lines'. Sunrise Class will be reading Goodnight Mister Tom during their reading lessons and Russet Class will begin Malamander by Thomas Taylor.
In maths, we will be starting the term looking at the formal methods for multiplication and division including long division. We will then continue to work on shape and angles as well as start introducing learning on fractions.
In science, we will learn about animals including humans and learn about the amazing functions of blood and the circulatory system.
We hope to have our Evacuee Day and will send more details about this in due course.
Thanks for your continued support.
The Year 6 Team.
