Session Times & Term Dates

Our School Day

For children in Year 1 to Year 6 the school day starts at 8.50am.

The arrangements are as follows:

  • Children can arrive or be dropped off between 8:35 am and 8:49 am.   All children should be in their classrooms by 8:50am – after this time children will be marked as late.
  • Children arriving and parents/adults dropping off need to come to the top playground (the playground with the train and traversing wall) where the children will then walk up the appropriate steps and walk into school.   Years 3 and 4 to walk up the stairs nearest to the main school gate (near Year 3 and 4 classrooms); Years 1, 2, 5 and 6 to walk up the stairs furthest away from the main school gate by the Year 6 classrooms.   All children will go through their normal doors, hang up their belongings and enter their classrooms.
  • Once parents have seen their children enter the building they are free to go.
  • Appropriate numbers of staff will be outside to ensure children go straight in.
  • Class teachers (or Teaching Assistant will be in class if Teacher is on duty) will be in class to welcome the children in the morning from 8:35am.

Should you have any messages that need relaying to the teachers, please note them in the contact book. The adult on duty will be able to pass on some messages, but there will be a limit to how many they will be able to hold in their heads, so you may prefer to ask your child to pass on the message or to wait and catch the teacher at the end of the day!

Reception children are met by their class teachers by the exit door

to their block.
