Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

Last academic year, some of our Year 5 children (now Year 6 children) were chosen to be Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.

On Thursday 21st June 2018 they received training on bullying and its effect.

This included:

- What bullying is - What bullying looks like - (including homophobic, physical, mental, emotional and the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010)

The reason for this training is so our Ambassadors can support their peers and look out for each other in our fully inclusive school.

In September they are going to create an action plan in order to further improve the school.

At Barming Primary School we strive to stamp out bullying.

Anti-Bullying Week 2018/2019: Choose Respect

  • The theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2018/2019 was ‘Choose Respect’

  • Anti-Bullying Week ran from 12-16th November 2018

Anti- Bullying Week 2018/2019:

This year as a school we decided to hold a poster competition. The poster reflected the schools zero tolerance of bullies and how we prevent and tackle bullying when it does occur e.g. We have Anti-Bullying Child Ambassadors, Assemblies and we promote the Core Values of the school to be kind and show respect.

Each key stage had a winner, who was chosen by Mrs Brooks and Mrs Robertson our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.

These posters are now up around school for all to see.

Metro Charity Project:

Barming Primary School signed up to work with the Metro Charity on their Anti-Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic Bullying Project. This has been invaluable to us as a school with ensuring we are fully inclusive. This project concluded in March 2019 but we have worked towards gaining their Kite Mark
